Supporting women experiencing homelessness

HOW CAN WE HELP?

We aim to end homelessness for every woman – for good.

Catherine House provides crisis, longer term accommodation and support services to women experiencing homelessness in South Australia. As South Australia’s only homelessness and recovery service for women, our work deals with the immediate issues created by homelessness and assists women in planning a future that helps them sustain housing and build purposeful lives.

Catherine House offers person centred support and Trauma-Informed care, focusing on clients’ existing strengths and knowledge. We accommodate up to 60 women experiencing homelessness per night, and provide an outreach service to women living in the community.

Homelessness can happen to anyone.

The main causes of women experiencing homelessness are due to domestic and family violence, mental and physical health issues and a lack of safe, affordable housing.

It could be your mother, sister, grandmother or friend. It could be you.

Catherine House relies on the support of the community to ensure we can provide women with not only a safe place to stay, but a variety of services to support their recovery.
